The Giants said Pierre-Paul played 46 of 63 (73 percent) defensive snaps, which is more than coach Tom Coughlin anticipated him working this soon.
Analysis: He played for the first time since losing his right index finger in the July 4 fireworks accident that sidelined him for training camp and the first eight games. The Giants didn't have any sacks, but Pierre-Paul's value was evident during the fourth quarter. He was able to put enough pressure on Jameis Winston to make the rookie quarterback rush several throws with the Bucs in catch-up mode.

Analysis: The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end is active for Sunday's game after practicing all week. He played his last game for the Giants in December 2014, and had nine sacks over the last five games. The Giants (4-4) need a win over the Buccaneers (3-4) to stay atop the NFC East standings.

Analysis: There are reports on Twitter that Pierre-Paul will sign if he passes a physical, which is very much in doubt after his freak injury in a fireworks accident on the July Fourth holiday.
|Sep. 17, 201511:23 AM PT12:23 PM MT1:23 PM CT2:23 PM ET18:23 GMT2:23 AM 北京时间11:23 AM MST1:23 PM EST1:23 PM CT22:23 UAE14:23 ET17:23 - New photos show the severity of the injury to Pierre-Paul's right hand, clearly showing his index finger mostly missing and his thumb and middle finger also damaged. The New York Daily News posted a photograph on Thursday showing Pierre-Paul without a bandage over his hand. It appeared that almost all of his index finger was missing. Paul still had small bandages on his thumb and middle finger. Part of his thumb appeared to be missing.
Analysis: The two-time Pro Bowler missed all of training camp after the Fourth of July fireworks accident. He allowed the team to examine his injured hand earlier this month, and the Giants declared that he wasn't ready to play. He remains unsigned and is not being paid.

Analysis: Pierre-Paul continues to try to convince the Giants that he is healthy enough to play, though such tactics of using social media to do that are childish and immature.
|Sep. 15, 20151:17 PM PT2:17 PM MT3:17 PM CT4:17 PM ET20:17 GMT4:17 AM 北京时间1:17 PM MST3:17 PM EST3:17 PM CT0:17 UAE (+1)16:17 ET19:17 - Reports are surfacing that part of Pierre-Paul's thumb is missing from his foolish fireworks accident.
Analysis: Pierre-Paul's index finger had to be amputated and now the thumb is a concern too for the Giants, who received more bad news after a ridiculous opening loss at Dallas.
|Sep. 9, 20158:31 AM PT9:31 AM MT10:31 AM CT11:31 AM ET15:31 GMT11:31 PM 北京时间8:31 AM MST10:31 AM EST10:31 AM CT19:31 UAE11:31 ET14:31 - The New York Giants say two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is not ready to play. Coach Tom Coughlin announced the decision Wednesday after the team examined the right hand that Pierre-Paul injured in a fireworks accident on the July Fourth holiday.
Analysis: While saying Pierre-Paul was in good shape and in an outstanding frame of mind after reporting Monday, Coughlin said the team did not feel he was ready to come back. Coughlin says there is no timetable for his return.
|Sep. 8, 20154:48 PM PT5:48 PM MT6:48 PM CT7:48 PM ET23:48 GMT7:48 AM 北京时间4:48 PM MST6:48 PM EST6:48 PM CT3:48 UAE (+1)19:48 ET22:48 - Pierre-Paul reported to the Giants on Monday so one of their open roster spots could be used for him, provided the team feels he can play with the right hand that he injured in a July 4th fireworks accident.
Analysis: It remains unclear when Pierre-Paul will be back.
|Sep. 7, 201511:24 AM PT12:24 PM MT1:24 PM CT2:24 PM ET18:24 GMT2:24 AM 北京时间11:24 AM MST1:24 PM EST1:24 PM CT22:24 UAE14:24 ET17:24 - Reports are surfacing that two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul may not make his season debut with the New York Giants until December.
Analysis: There is no guarantee that Pierre-Paul will even play this season but the Giants are being optimistic.
|Sep. 3, 20151:53 PM PT2:53 PM MT3:53 PM CT4:53 PM ET20:53 GMT4:53 AM 北京时间1:53 PM MST3:53 PM EST3:53 PM CT0:53 UAE (+1)16:53 ET19:53 - It has been confirmed that the embattled Pierre-Paul will re-join the Giants next week by owner John Mara.
Analysis: Pierre-Paul foolishly hurt his right index finger during some July 4 fireworks tomfoolery. He has yet to meet with the club, though Mara said before the Giants' win over the Super Bowl champion Patriots on Thursday that the star defensive end will report to the Giants next week.
|July 30, 201512:43 PM PT1:43 PM MT2:43 PM CT3:43 PM ET19:43 GMT3:43 AM 北京时间12:43 PM MST2:43 PM EST2:43 PM CT23:43 UAE15:43 ET18:43 - The New York Giants finally have spoken with defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul about his injuries. Giants general manager Jerry Reese said Monday morning in a radio interview that "it was a personal conversation, and I want to keep it private between him and I."
Analysis: Reese said on WFAN in New York that he also has spoken to Pierre-Paul's agent. Pierre-Paul has yet to sign his franchise tag tender, worth $14.8 million for 2015. Should he wind up on the non-football injury list once he signs it, the Giants would not be liable to pay him as long as he is on that list.
|July 15, 20152:21 PM PT3:21 PM MT4:21 PM CT5:21 PM ET21:21 GMT5:21 AM 北京时间2:21 PM MST4:21 PM EST4:21 PM CT1:21 UAE (+1)17:21 ET20:21 - A person close to the negotiations says Pierre-Paul did not get a new long-term contract deal from the New York Giants ahead of a deadline for players who have franchise tags.
Analysis: The lack of a deal by the Wednesday deadline is not surprising considering Pierre-Paul's status has been uncertain since he was hurt in a fireworks accident July 4.
|July 6, 201510:02 AM PT11:02 AM MT12:02 PM CT1:02 PM ET17:02 GMT1:02 AM 北京时间10:02 AM MST12:02 PM EST12:02 PM CT21:02 UAE13:02 ET16:02 - Pierre-Paul's future with the New York Giants remains uncertain after a fireworks accident, even though a person with knowledge of the contract tells The Associated Press the team has not rescinded its $14.8 million franchise tag offer.
Analysis: The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the details of Pierre-Paul's contract situation. The star defensive end was injured in an accident involving fireworks on July 4.
|June 16, 201511:58 AM PT12:58 PM MT1:58 PM CT2:58 PM ET18:58 GMT2:58 AM 北京时间11:58 AM MST1:58 PM EST1:58 PM CT22:58 UAE14:58 ET17:58 - Pierre-Paul is skipping the New York Giants' mandatory offseason minicamp after failing to sign the team's $14.8 million tender offer as its franchise player. The Giants have until July 15 to sign him to a long-term deal. If he does not sign, he can become a free agent after the season.
Analysis: Pierre-Paul, who led the Giants with 12 1/2 sacks last season, was not at the minicamp opening workout Tuesday. It wasn't a surprise. While the team is learning a new defensive system under coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, participating in the minicamp would expose him to injury and risk his chances of signing a long-term contract. Because the 26-year-old is not under contract, he also can't be fined.
|Mar. 2, 201512:07 PM PT1:07 PM MT2:07 PM CT3:07 PM ET20:07 GMT4:07 AM 北京时间1:07 PM MST3:07 PM EST2:07 PM CT0:07 UAE (+1)15:07 ET19:07 - The New York Giants placed the franchise tag on Pierre-Paul after the 26-year-old rebounded from two injury-plagued seasons.
Analysis: The Giants made the move Monday, guaranteeing that their first-round draft pick of 2010 will make at least $14.813 million next season unless the two sides reach an agreement on a long-term deal by July 15.
